Who Is Nora Swann??

Who is she?

Nora Swann is a samoan(Niuean)woman, born in Auckland though. She’s a very successful entrepreneur  that was very shy when she was young;

*she was shy & didn’t like men (<-ToT )

But when she realised that she’s into fashion, she starts posing with very cool clothes and dresses and posts them in Instagram(?), she didn’t tell us where she posted it.. Not important anyways. After she posted, some people find them very cool. Then she decided to make a company called “Nora Swann”. Then, all of a sudden, she became very famous. (THE END).

Abandoned “Rook”

Abandoned “Rook”

BY – Justine Gunay | From R7

I call this a Rook because it looks like a rook. P.S. it’s kind of like a small castle.

ABANDONED “ROOK”, how it looks like  –

This seems like a Rook, but a small little castle too. On the inside, we can see a staircase and at the bottom, I don’t know what to call it. It looks like some arrows, south, west, north and east. On the outside it seems like nothing is underground, but on the inside it feels very unreal. The “Rook” seemed to be very old, probably in the 100s or less, when the Roman empire and old Egypt was still around. Moss is all around the bottom part of the Rook and looks very creepy(inside too!).

ABANDONED “ROOK”, what i’ll do if i’m inside –

If I’m inside it, heck. It’s going to be creepy.. I’d need someone to join me, not gonna lie.  In the inside it’s very wet, i’d probably need:

  • A Rain Boot
  • Raincoat (obviously)
  • Camera(in case I die)
  • Backpack with supplies

Why am I saying that? nevermind that,  if I’m inside there, i would immediately, and i mean immediately, regret my life decisions… Not only is it creepy, the weather also seems very bad and it’ll probably rain very hard and flood inside.

Goodbye, this is all! Thank you for reading!

KI ORAHI EXPERIENCE-

*rolling subs mean that they can change even though the game is still going.

**monopoly money by the way.

***in our school only, it means that the seniors are the only ones that did it[from our school].

This is my Ki Orahi experience:

On the 13th of June, 2023, we did a tournament involving all of the seniors in St. Patrick’s School in Panmure. The game was called “Ki Orahi”, Mr. Bell told us that there will be 7 kids on the field and 3 rolling subs*. I played two matches in 11:20 AM and in 1:20 PM. At the beginning of the day, I was very excited and nervous at the same time. And the coach even said he was gon’ give the winning team 100 dollars**!!! So, without further ado, this is my review on what we did in the Ki Orahi tournament in our school***!

MATCH 1, 11:20 AM –

Before we started, Mr. Bell told us to go to our teams. Red(Rata), Blue(Rimu), Yellow(Totara), Green(Kauri). I was in group Green(Kauri). We were fighting against group Red(Rata), and we were the first one to battle! During the match, we were being cheered on, and many people were cheering for both teams! In the 20th minute, it was full-time. Guess who won the match? Us! We won 15-11 to Red(Rata). Our team performance was really good, overall our team performance is 8.5/10.

WATCHING MATCH 11:40 AM –

*you should know by now that each round only lasts for 20 mins.

After the match, we watched Yellow(Totara) and Blue(Rimu). The ones that cheered were mostly girls, and they screamed, screamed, and screamed… high pitch screams. My ears were dying at the time, some boys didn’t scream that loud they just went shouting “go Totara!”.

I barely shouted because I had a cough and my throat was kinda bad that day. After the 20 mins, it was full-time*. Sadly, Totara won. I think the scoreline was 7-6? I forgot, sorry!

=======================================

SKIP TO 1:20 PM, MATCH 2-

=======================================

*Sorry, I have a very bad memory for some reason.

After lunch, we were once again organised, it seems like they cancelled the finals, dang. It was Green(Kauri) vs. Blue(Rimu). We started strong, Blue too.  It was all intense, cheering was gone after the girls got growled for screaming too loud. Everyone was just minding their own business, I felt like this was just an average P.E. game we play every tuesday, not that exciting. But my head felt very bad that match. At the 15th minute I decided to sub out because I can’t run properly if my head hurts, and when I scream, it hurts even more, I can’t even cheer. After the 20th minute. We won! I think…*

1:40, WATCHING FINAL MATCH-

* I support the boys B)

This is it. The final match, Yellow(Totara) vs. Red(Rata). I was cheering for Yellow, since Jaeden was there, Jacob too*. Everything was going well, until… Alyvia subbed out, and the replacement was.. Willietonie, the best of the best, against the team I was supporting, this time all hopes were lost, or were they? Yellow tried their best to score against them, overall, all those tries, all those scores, their performance was all worth it. They won.

ANNOUNCING OF THE WINNERS –

Everybody was excited, when the coach told us that 3rd place was a tie, I was scared  that we might’ve gone 3rd. Until the coach said it was Blue(Rimu) and Red(Rata). 1st place was… Green(Kauri)! And we won 100 dollars(which is fake)!!

Caesar The Red Cross Dog

Caesar The Red Cross Dog

By: Justine Matt

Date made: 28th of April, 2023

Caesar is a bulldog that is a mascot in the NZ army and also trained to be a RED CROSS DOG. A red cross dog is a dog that searches for injured soldiers, or missing soldiers. Caesar has helped the army a lot by finding injured/missing soldiers. Caesar also made a lot of friends! Sadly, he died while trying to save a wounded soldier that couldn’t walk properly. He is remembered for his services in the army.

”What ANZAC Day Means To Me?”

‘’What ANZAC day means to me’’

ANZAC means Australia New Zealand Army Corps. ANZAC Day is to celebrate and remember the New Zealand & Australian soldiers that fought in wars for their country. We do Parades and cook ANZAC cookies/biscuits(made with golden syrup and rolled oats). It is a Public Holiday. But therefore, it doesn’t mean anything to me(probably because i’m not born in New Zealand and don’t know much of it).  ANZAC day is celebrated on the 25th of April. They fought not just in New Zealand but also overseas, they fought in poppy fields(not all the time though) and some of them died there. Although, if i was born New Zealand, it would mean to me; that it is a day to remember our battalions who fought for New Zealand.

Waka Ama Experience

We practiced to paddle with the coaches (3 coaches) We learned some paddling  moves like easy, hop, and two more. After the practice we wore our life-jackets, and we we’re ready for our practice in the Waka-Ama!

I was part of the practice INSIDE the Waka Ama(Canoe)! We practiced our paddles and we did great. We kept practising until… we we’re ready to go to race.

We did a friendly race with two teams competing against each other, the Room 8 boys vs Room 7 girls… i was the only boy in the waka ama of the girls, but we have a great coach! In the first round we lost… but in the second round we  won and they we’re meters away from us. After that we went back to the shore and swapped two from each teams

I decided to leave because i was so wet! I swapped with Willietony and Matalena with  Alyvia [fast forward]. After that i wore my backup clothes :D, i went down to the shore and watched them practice, and race, we won 3 times! So it was 3-2 ( we lost to the paddling with hands )

Before we left, we carried the Waka Ama ( Canoe ) back to the sheds, and took off our life- jackets. Man it made me don’t want to leave it because it was so FUN! When we left i wish we could’ve stayed longer, you should try it out!

What I Did In St Patrick’s Day and in Sunday & Saturday

By Justine Matt R. Gunay Room 7     St. Patrick’s Day-Friday

I went to school because it was a very special day. It was St. Patrick’s Day!

I did my best in a reading. After the mass we played Sack Race, T. Ball, Scatterball, Gumboot Throw, & hoops. Our team lost some games but we won the gumboot throw with the furthest throw. And I think we also won at Hoops. And we had so much fun and I just wish we can do it again.

After the sports it was lunchtime. I ate my lunch with Vaha (Vahaloka) . My lunch was like beef. After the bell rang we went to the field and played soccer.

In the afternoon we did  some indoor activities.

It was hometime. I went to Tita Terry with Eldrich, Jeaden and other kids (approximately there were 8 of us). After we got home we watched some youtube videos and played Marco. We went home at about 5:30 PM. When we got home we ate dinner with my parents and my little sister.

Saturday picnic+dinner

I didn’t go in Saturday because my Papa/Dad didn’t want to go. My mom was at work (She is a seller at a mall). My dad was mowing our backyard and we were just at home. We ate lunch and took a bath, and i was bored so i played some games. In about 4:50 PM we picked up mom at the mall.

Sunday Mass + Concert

I went to mass because i always go to mass every Sunday. I wore the school uniform as said so. After the mass we went to the hall and we sang there. We sang Karanga E and 2 more songs. After the WHOLE school students sang we went home and ate lunch there. And we waited till 5:00 PM again because were gonna pick up mom.
